Sohbah of Hajjah Ruqqaiyah Sultan

Dated 27 April 2020 / 04 Ramadan 1441

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,

Tariqatunas sohba, wa khayru fil jamiyya.

Insha Allah. It is, because…..it is, that, I am telling this every…..every year, I should tell everyday this…..you know so many people doesn’t know either they, they pray, they make wudhu, they pray, but, we, are all, we all have, a, small, small…..missing things, we don’t understand somethings we have to do more less, anyway, Insha Allah.

So, for Salah, to pray, we need to have wudhu, to be clean. Our body should be clean. Our, we should have wudhu, our place where we are going to pray, is to, should be clean. And, the clothes we are wearing also should be clean. One of the sister were asking also we need to…..also clean our hair, in…..in the…..under our arms and downstairs. This is, this is important. So many people doesn’t know about it. And I have…..always…..questions about it. So, it should not be more than 40 days, you are growing hair in your special parts. Yes! It should not be more than 40 days. You have to clean every, 2 – 3 weeks or…..any, anytime…..It is a…..it is not a fun. People, it is, so many people doesn’t know about it. You know specially…..yeah, if you make it, yes every week is good. But, if you know, you cannot, it should not be more than 40 days that your hair is grown in your special areas. You know, you have to be, to also this for cleaning…..it’s, you know, so many people doesn’t know. You can make it with a razor, you can make with a sugar, you can make with a wax…..I don’t know…..waxing your legs, you can wax your special areas also. Astagfirullah Al Azeem.

Yes, I this is also…..And, the other lady was asking with alcohol, you said alcohol is najas,…..is najas. It is the, alcohol that…..drinking, it’s najas. It should be clean, it should be washed and dried. Or if it is dry, without stain, then…..and…..it is not….it’s clean. But, if it has stain you have to wash the stain, the alcohol you drink, not alcohol in the medicines, you know, Or if it is in the medicines it will be very easy…..even trump saying, drink disinfectant. Anyway, because…..the…..the drinking alcohol is najas, so the other one is anyway you can do not drink it. It is…..it is flies very quickly, the alcohol, it doesn’t stay…..like, it evaporates so quickly. So, it’s not, not very important……but if….anyway when you have wudhu, it will be washed, if even if you have on your hands, when you have wudhu it will be washed so this, it will be finished.

Not…..no…..no, no effect on it. So, we…..we have wudhu, we have……we have body cleaning, and we have our place clean, and our clothes clean. This is farz…..it is farz to clean obligatory to, to have your body clean. You…..your…..your wudhu, and you have, your place clean. You can pray anywhere, anywhere in…..Allah عزوجل rewarded, gifted to صلى الله عليه وسلم ,that his ummah, his nation, can pray anywhere. There is special places that you don’t, you don’t, pray in bathroom, in the toilet or…..or in the place where there is lots of animals and there is lots of dirt and place that you are not sure that it is, it was clean before. But you can pray any, anywhere else. You have Qibla.

And, for the prayer, we have, there is twelve condition for prayer. Six pillars…..Six, be, out of prayer, out of Salah, and six inside the Salah…..this, out of Salah, is first to have wudhu. And, second that, the time of the prayer is…..in that a…..the time of the prayer. Morning prayer it is since, the first light…..first white light coming, until…..until, sunrise. Ten minutes before sunrise it is, you can pray morning prayer. After that…..you…..after morning…..sunrise, you can pray it until noon time. Sunnah and farz, but, you pray it also qadah…..like make up. Like you makeup, but that you have to pray sunnah and farz until noon time, until Zuhr time.

Zuhr time, it is noon that…..sun is…..going to set…..No, in the middle of the sky. Ten minutes later and after middle of the sky or 12  – 15 minutes. Zawal, they  say zawal that it is going down, that it is started to going down for setting…..15 minutes. After, it is, in the middle of the sky, this is the starting of the time of Zuhr, noon time.

The time of Asr, it is when you put something…..that, the…..the…..the shadow of the subject, any subject you put shadow, should be one, one time. One time…..more,  more than one time, little bit. This is Asr awwal. And there is Asr time there is the…..should be double…..double the shadow, should be double. This is Asr time.

Maghrib time it is, when sun setting, and it is red, it is red, the sky is red, until the red is vanished. This is, Maghrib time, it is not so long time but they make it one hour, half hour between Maghrib and Isha.. That usually it is only forty minutes or something until the red is vanished, and the sky is black, it is…..Maghrib time is finished.

Sometimes in Europe, there was some firkaaz,  that they are not even, some they are between the Muslims, they have a funny ideas, funny fatwas in Europe because they are so much in the north, the sky never comes black, they don’t pray Isha. Mawlana was so angry about it…..so…..so and the time from Isha, when the sky is completely black, till morning prayer. It is, the longest time.

So,  the first is to…..to have our, your, the first pillar is to have wudhu. To have your body clean, your clothes clean, your place clean, and the second is the time of the prayer is in…..I finish later.

The third thing to Satar al  awrah to close your, your body, for the prayer. For ladies, they only can show their face and their hands and their feet in Hanafi madhab. In, Shafi’i madhab, only your face. Even they have to cover their hands and their feet. And you…..you know…..you, you only cover …..your face and hands can show with the prayer, in the prayer and feet. If you…..if you cover it, the face should be open…..no you cannot pray with your neck open or your ears are showing or your…..your…..what is…..sleeves, your sleeves…..sleeves little bit up or, your skirt is short. You know it should be until your ankle. This is Satar al awrah for ladies.

And for men it is, hey can pray, with…..from their belly button until, if it is covered until under, under their, their knee. But this is not liked, to be liked you know. Mawlana never liked this, you know, this is only maybe you can have it when you’re in Hajj or Ehraam they can wear. But if you are at home, your praying, your…..to wear proper clothes, this is better than this. This is naked, but you know for, for them Satar al  awrah it is from their belly button until under their, their knee they have to be covered. They can pray like this. But to close even, Mawlana like to have a, even long sleeves. Before my…..He always tell, my children when they were wearing t- shirts, you know. He never liked this, he always tell wear long sleeves. My older son, my two sons they wear, the three others are…..but this is, you know for men also to wear proper clothes, not with short, not with a…..put head, cover their head, they should cover their hair, put hat on their head.

This first pillar is to stand towards Qibla. To stand towards Qibla, to know where is the Qibla, to stand to, to face the, the Qibla. It is,  Also important you know Sub Han Allah, Prophet                       صلى الله عليه وسلم was sending people to places where they are new Muslim coming and he sent one of the sahaba to Yemen. This is story,  I read it to, Little bit ago. But, Maa Shaa Allah it is very nice.

He sent to Yemen and told the sahaba to teach them how to pray and how to and he told him to make masjid. And he told him this masjid should be towards mountain there. It is, this should be, the Qibla should be…..on this mountain. You know the…..the…Qibla and they made, he made it,  the…..he in Yemen, and Sub Han Allah later, now, nowadays, they were looking in satellite and this, the masjid, what Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was telling him to do, how to do it exactly and how to put the Qibla towards this mountain towards the hill, of, I don’t know what, he was giving him instruction, and they make it now. The measurement it was exactly the same line to, towards  Kaaba. This is also from Prophe صلى الله عليه وسلم .So this is for,  is to stand towards Qibla.

The first is a niyaah, to make intention. Intention for the time you are praying, for morning, for Zuhr, for Asr, for Maghrib,  for Isha, you make the intention, to pray. I intended to pray for Allah عزوجل, the farz of morning, farz of Zuhr, farz of Asr, farz of Maghrib, farz of Isha, you…..this is intention.

And, six is to make Allāhu ‘Akbar, the takbeeratul ihram, to make, Allāhu ‘Akbar. Man make over their shoulders, but ladies under the, under their shoulders. On, on the sides not from the ears, the man from up, but ladies from down. So, this is the beginning, six pillars. And when you go in the prayer, you read ‘Subhanaka Allahumma wa bi hamdika  wa tabara kasmuka wa ta’ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuka’, this is opening dua for the prayer, from, in the first rakah. Then you read Fatiha, to read, to read Quran in the…..first pillar in to, to stand. Inside the prayer, to stand…..first standing is also…..And, to read  something from Quran. To read Fatiha, or to read other thing. I Don’t want to mix your…..to read Fatiha  is obligatory. To read, to stand, to read Fatiha, then you read small surah after or some, some verses of Quran after Fatiha, the second. To go to rukoo, this is the third. Then, to go to sajdah to stand up and to go to rukoo , to sajdah. To stand, to read Quran, to make rukoo, to make sujood and the last…..Sit of attahiyat, for tashahhud, this is pillar and to give salam.

For morning prayer it is two rakah. Zuhr prayer is four rakah or Asr it is four rakah, for Maghrib  it is three rakah, for Isha it is four rakah, and the three witr wajib, and we have sunnah you know, you pray sunnah’s also is prayer, with this prayer you know you pray sunnah also, this is farz, and…..you…..two rakah before morning prayer, four rakah before Zuhr, two or four after Zuhr. After farz, four rakah before in Asr. Two rakah before Maghrib and two rakah after Maghrib. Four rakah before Isha, four…..two or four before Isha, and the witr wajib. This is the…..the numbers of the rakah’s in the prayer to pray. Most of you know this.

And, in sunnah the rakah we have to read Fatiha  and small surah. Every rakah we read because in farz, when you’re praying four rakah farz, you’re reading, the first two rakah’s,  you read Fatiha and small surah, then the two others you only read Fatiha in farz, in the obligatory. In sunnah, in every rakah you read one Fatiha, one small surah or some verses from Quran. In each rakah when you’re praying sunnah.

When you’re praying nifl, you are praying…..you pray it like this. Every rakah you should read Fatiha and small surah. And, when you are sitting, if you are praying four rakah’s, sunnah, in sitting, while you are sitting, you read at attahiyat and ‘Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin Allah humma baarik ala Muhammadin, the two, Allahumma salli ala and until innaka hameedum majeed’. Only the first sunnah of the Zuhr, you read it until, ‘Ašhadu an lā ilāha illā-llāh  wa ašhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasūluhu’, and then you get up. You read also, one Fatiha, one surah. But all other prayers, when you are, if you are praying four rakah’s and the second rakah , when you are sitting for attahiyatu, read until innaka hameedum majeed. And, when you get up for the third rakah you read ‘Subhanaka Allahumma wa bi hamdika  wa tabara kasmuka wa ta’ala jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuka’. This is important Insha Allah. And you this, it is Insha Allah the prayers what Allah عزوجل is, was ordering from Prophet  صلى الله عليه وسلم  to tell us about it.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was saying, do like me, he didn’t say pray like me. Because nobody can pray like Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, but he was showing us how to make the prayer. And first jama’a he was making with Jibreel عليه السلام , he was come, Jibreel عليه السلام was coming, making imam and the showing the new Muslims how to pray. To read…..to read, how to pray with jama’a. And Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم  said, the Salah, ‘Imaadudeen’.

The prayer is the, pillar of the religion. Without this pillar the religion is falling down. Insha Allah, we make intention Insha Allah to pray five times a day. And to we are, hoping Allah is never make the love of Salah out of our hearts.

Even if you cannot pray this, Mawlana always tell me…..tell you this,  you laugh about it but, I was, I think thirteen or fourteen years old, I was sometimes not praying or I never tell him I don’t pray. He was like, “Ruqqaiyah  did you pray?” “No, I forgot!” “ Ok, you go and pray.” Then I, one day he was telling me,  because I was going also to madrasa, to the mufti madrasa in Damascus, I was going this and he said, he was calling me “Mudarrisah”.  He was telling me, “Ruqqaiyah you know, one day you will make sohbah for ladies and tell them if you don’t forget, Pray!”. So, now I am telling you, because of the karamat of Mawlana, to show miracle of Mawlana, you don’t forget, pray. If you, if you, don’t……some people’s, their shaitaan’s are  so big. I don’t know this days is too many things are happening.

For your children also, tell them. Mawlana was telling atleast, two rakah’s they pray. Don’t keep, don’t leave your day without prayer, without sajdah, without coming your head on the floor to Allah عزوجل.

Wa Minallah at-Tawfeeq,

Al-Fatiha.

Ishraq, you pray after…..15 or 20 minutes after, until it should be when you look with your eye, the…. The sun is released from the horizon. You have to wait till 6.
